Many Issues Shortly After Warranty Expiration

we, like many others who left reviews, had an issue with our ice dispenser mixing water and ice. it turns out it was a symptom of a bigger cooling problem throughout the entire unit and the software is not accurate in that it still indicates low temperatures that we set for the unit but that is not the reality as our food in the freezer has thawed and many items in our refrigerator have not been adequately cooled and we had to throw out quite a bit of food due to spoilage. we've had issues with our other samsung appliances lack of durability shortly after the warranty expires so would not recommend this product specifically or samsung appliances generally without an extended warranty or until the company puts more emphasis on creating durable products.

We bought this fridge a few months ago and it is a dream. Tons of room. We love the pitcher that automatically fills with water. Then there is the camera that takes a picture from inside the fridge. We can upload family photos and stick on the door. It even lets you stream tc from your SamsunG TV. It's very easy to use. It works well with an iPhone as well with the family hub app.

Worst ice maker ever

I bought this refrigerator 2 years ago everything the refrigerator works as should expect the ice maker. It keeps freezing up. Its not insulated enough to keep the ice from melting a little then all the ice cubes all stick together and jams up.

purchased in nov. of 2018. overall frig functions fine and keeps food at proper temps. love the auto-refill water pitcher inside the door. middle drawer is convenient. aesthetically pleasing look overall. but - shelf design awkward in frig. some shelves are useless. freezer drawer doesn't roll smoothly, never has. freezer space is lacking. ring doorbell app doesn't work well; pic comes up on frig but face obscured by a band at the top of screen showing ring is activated, mic and speakers to talk to person do not work. tizen software for os is terrible. many apps not well supported by tizen. icemaker is a complete fail. does not dispense properly, mechanism freezes over, ice cubes clump and get stuck, has never worked properly from day one. this needs a complete resdesign!

We did quite some research before purchasing and knew for sure that we wanted the fingerprint resistant. Here we are six months later and I can for sure tell you that it is NOT fingerprint resistant. In fact, it shows more fingerprints and smudges than I've ever seen on an appliance. I love that we can put pictures and play music from the hub. I also love the water pitcher feature, but that is now leaking. I've tried to contact customer service and so far, no response. For the price of the fridge, I was expecting a little better.

it's a fridge. looks decent. keeps things cold. lighting and shelf design is nice and durable. the ice maker is a total piece of junk. freezes and becomes unusable in a few months. after defrosting, it used to work for a couple months before freezing again. now it's weekly. samsung has ignored this for years. no idea why they would stake their reputation on a bad ice maker, but here we are. the family hub software is terrible. not much is useful and little of it interacts with other devices. why don't they just load android on it? most of the interior is nice and durable but the shelf and divider in the freezer are easily broken and come off-track nearly every time it's opened. it's not an awful, completely dysfunctional refrigerator, but at these prices, it shouldn't have these problems.

Excellent overall but needs subtle improvement

We've had our fridge for 2 years now and find ourselves most experienced for a review at this time The counter-depth version of this Family Hub is perfect, filling the space without encroaching into the kitchen. The stainless finish is adequate yet impossible to keep free of fingerprints. We love the flex zone and use it weekly based on what we have more of. Our biggest complaint is with the freezer draw. This refrigerator can cool fast to whatever temp you set it to. Additionally, the Power Cool and Power Freeze function(s) are a big hit and the digital display is wonderful and hasn't caused us any issues yet. Furthermore, we like having the ability to see who's at the front-door when the doorbell rings with the RING app. We also appreciate being able to look inside of the fridge from the grocery store. If you forgot to check how much milk was left? No problem, just "look inside". We also incorporate a grocery list and this is convenient. It's very easy to use and with you at all times. Lastly, the filter is in an easy-to-reach location making it very fast and easy to swap out every 6 months! Had we known more about the weak design of the freezer draw we probably would have skipped this model and purchased a different refrigerator. I can't stress enough how important one-hand operation is when it comes to opening and accessing a freezer. We honestly feel that the freezer draw is an abomination will haunt you as long as you own it. The freezer, ( adequate in size ) has a convenient top draw that allows for some organization within the freezer bin. However, it does not stay on track or operate smoothly when it is on track. When is does stay on track it takes careful/helpful two-handed guidance to operate smoothly. Every time the track/guide seizes or jumps off track, my wife cannot accurately realign the track and guides to get it back on-track so she has to enlist my help as I'm sure many others would enlist the aid of someone, too. This is because in order to put the draw back on track the freezer needs to be opened fully and the draw slid back on track from the rear. This requires cantilevering the ( sometimes full of food ) draw to the back in order to realign it for accuracy. This is extremely cumbersome and disappointing. So disappointing that we kick ourselves constantly for such an oversight when shopping for it. In the past it was Samsungs careful attention to details that always grabbed my attention most. Funny, how this ended up for us. Every time we open the freezer we're reminded of this utter disappointment. I removed 1 star for issue and 1 star for the reminder. Had a better draw track system been designed, this would be an easy 5 star review. Without question the fridge has met or exceeded all expectations for us. Mark

i choose this unit because it had a touch screen, i was looking for a high tech refrigerator. i liked the quality of the shelves, the ability to see what is in the unit remotely. the touch screen is an android type, however only a few apps work. the apps that are on the unit work well, and if you have a samsung tv with bluetooth, you can view what is on the tv. i wish there were more remote control like changing the channel or source. the youtube app does not function. that's why 4 instead of 5 stars.

Bought this fridge 9 months ago and so far so good. I love the size of the screen and the functions like the flex zone, automatic refill jar, etc. Overall works as is supposed to (keeps stuff cold). However, I have the following comments on the functions: - I wish the software had more app selections (like nest, and any live TV channels or netflix) - Mirroring my samsung TV doesn't work! (or I haven't been able to make it work) - I wish I could mirror my phone to the screen (I have an iPhone) - on the RING app, you cannot see live video - Bixby doesn't work very well, but I honestly don't need it. Overall good fridge, but wish they would step up the software game.

Love the front computer panel, which initially I didn't think I would use. I LOVE having the slideshow of pictures on the front and use online recipes frequently. My only complaint is my icemaker has frozen solid 3x. It's a pain to defrost enough to remove the ice and deforst the system. We use the ice maker multiple times every day.

We want update out of dated appliances in our kitchen and like something new and advanced. We found out the Samsung Family Hub refrigerator, and bought it from Costco for a month. We really love it. It is a very stylish stainless steel design with more thoughtful features. Especially the Family Hub, we can enjoy the apps from WIFI enable feature, watch our photos with our favorite music in the background, the sound is beautiful just like a big sound box in the kitchen. With SmartThing app, you can check what is inside of your refrigerator when you are in a grocery store. Four doors design gives your convenient way to store your stuffs in different temperature zones. Folding shelf, water pitcher, many boxes and rooms you can organize everything in order.

I'll start this review with our only complaint about the refrigerator and then I'll detail the good stuff.. As is the case many other Samsung refrigerator owners, our ice maker is awful. It is really slow to make ice and only holds enough ice to fill around four eight-ounce glasses. Around a year after we bought the refrigerator, the ice maker started to clog up, ice would clump between the inside wall and the edge where the ice dumps into the bin. I searched over the internet and found that this is a common problem in numerous Samsung refrigerator models where the ice bin sits in the main refrigeration compartment as opposed to the freezer. Since mine was just out of warranty, Samsung said it would cost $300 - $600 to repair it. Samsung refrigerator owners who have done the repair have said the problem returns after a while. There is no visible damage or wear to any components of my refrigerator whatsoever. The alternative, which I chose, is to defrost the ice clump with a hair dryer. I have to do this about once a month. Other than that issue, we love our refrigerator. The design is beautiful and the screen is incredibly convenient. We use our screen all the time for recipes and setting kitchen timers. We can broadcast whatever is being played on our Samsung smart TVs in other rooms to the refrigerator screen so we don't miss a play during the game. The Bixby voice control works great, and the Ring doorbell app allows us to see and speak to visitors from our refrigerator. The deli drawer is very convenient and the refrigerator is as silent as a refrigerator can be. Overall, we love our refrigerator. We just wish Samsung had done better with engineering the ice maker.

Gorgeous refrigerator, works great so far.

I bought this refrigerator a little over a year ago and was scared by negative reviews into buying an extended warranty with it. Luckily I haven?t needed it so far, the refrigerator is truly a centerpiece for my remodeled kitchen, was easy to hook up to home WiFi and works great so far.

First of all, our food is cold and organized. The various shelves and compartments are pleasant and make it easy to find what we are looking for. the internal water pitcher is nice for making batches of drinks for the family. We like having family photos greet us on the tablet and Pandora plays most of the day on the fridge. So it makes the kitchen a nice place to be. The tablet operating system is limited and a little less user friendly, but who wants to spend their day looking at the front of the fridge, anyway. We do use it to display recipes on Pinterest regularly. That works out rather well. We don?t use the white board or memo features much. And during COVID, we?re not shopping much to need to peak inside the fridge from the store. I do think we?ll start keeping a list on the tablet of what?s in the overstock fridge. We?ve had Samsung refrigerators in the past and have always been pleased.

Okay, but...

Not quite as efficient space as I had hoped on the inside A lot of bells and whistles which my wife wanted but I'm more basic. Ice maker has already gone out once and may be starting to have the same issue. Had for around two years so far. If the ice maker goes out again and is no longer under warranty will probably run between 4 and $500. For the amount of money on this fridge these issue should not be popping up. Obviously, there are some design flaws. That's not make enough ice to support an average family. Thought the adjustable slide in shelves will be good but if you hit the shelf from below with a taller item everything above will fall off as it will slide in. Apparently no way to lock the shelf

Very aesthetically pleasing refrigerator. I like the sleekness with the under mount handles. And I love the water pitcher feature. We had to have the ice maker replaced almost immediately though because it leaked but was under warranty and have had no issues since Samsung serviced it.

All the bells and whistles but not worth the money

Looks good but connectivity with home internet leaves something to desire. Connection drops from home network even though connection is strong and other devices stay connected. Should have lan connection function. The Ice compartment freezes over constantly and I have to use a hair dryer to melt the ice to remove the tray, ice tray broke from trying to dislodge. The fact that I can not use with Alexa makes it pointless to pair with the rest of my smart home. Which keeps me from using all the functions that come with the fridge. Will not buy again next refrigerator will be just a simple refrigerator and this is coming from a tech guy.

Nice refrigerator, Not to mention the sleek and elegant design of the fridge. Smart app works and connected to other smart home app that we use at home (e.g. Ring, Alexa). Family hub app is great..Infused pitcher, extra temp controlled drawer are some great things and family make it well worth it.

Amazing Fridge

I bought this when I bought my new house as we needed a fridge. We didn?t necessarily need one with all these features, but so happy with this product. The interface is easy to use and operate... my children know how to use it. Definitely recommend!

We love the fridge and the Family HUB to connect our calendars and schedules. The only item we had issues with were the freezer and it icing over. Once the ice maker and motherboard were replaced we have not have any issues.

Great Fridge

I bought about a year ago now. Love the look and cooking of the fridge. Vegetables stay fresh a lot longer than any other fridge I had. Smart features dobcomebin handy at times. Ex. During this trying time I can order groceries on the fridge to be delivered to my door. If I do decide to go to the market i can pull up a picture of what's in my fridge real time to see if i need to buy milk or another item i might have forgotten. Only thing i would change about the fridge is the rolling upper tray in the freezer. It comes of track to much.
